“Not a wall at all” / Jim Bridwell
We chose to name it Aquarian Wall, in line with many traditional route names in Yosemite. At the time we were unaware that only a certain privileged few could name their routes “walls”. We were soon informed, much to our surprise that this route, un- like the North America Wall or the Salathe Wall, was not a wall at all. Certain self-appointed (though inconsistent) guardians of Yosemite climbing traditions strongly urged us to name the route Aquarius. Nevertheless, we stuck by
Aquarian Wall, and Aquarian Wall it is, despite what certain people not invited on, nor involved in the climb or its name may say or write.
